Korokke y Fugu parcourent le Japon en suivant le fameux chemin de l'épée pour se former à devenir les meilleures lames du pays. Ils participent à des duels et étudient l'art de leurs adversaires afin d'améliorer leur technique et d'exercer leur habileté. Avant d'entreprendre ce voyage, Korokke était toujours en quête d'aventures et prêtait volontiers main-forte aux humains, mais après la trahison du seigneur féodal Nobunaga, tout a changé pour notre oni : depuis lors, il refuse d'aider qui que ce soit. Jusqu'au jour où une nonne du nom de Negi lui sauve la vie. Il se trouve alors dans l'obligation de lui donner son soutien en retour. Negi a besoin d'aide pour vaincre un homme cruel à la tête d'une gigantesque armée qui veut raser son temple sacré pour s'emparer du mystérieux trésor qui dort au plus profond de ses fondations. L'unique façon de repousser cette armée est de réveiller et d'invoquer un kami : l'esprit gardien qui dort sous la montagne. Ce que Korokke ignore encore quand il accepte d'aider Negi, c'est que l'adversaire qu'il devra combattre est leur grand ennemi commun : Nobugana.

"Après le très bon accueil reçu par KOROKKE ET LA FILLE QUI A DIT NON, nous avons décidé de rassembler de nouveau nos forces pour vous offrir une nouvelle aventure de notre grand gaillard. Cette fois-ci, c'est nous qui avons fait appel à Spaceman Project avec cette histoire complète qui relate des faits antérieurs à l'histoire du premier album. Ce projet a été accueilli avec enthousiasme et nous nous remettons donc au travail !
Cette fois-ci, la trame s'inscrit dans un contexte historique réel, l'époque Sengoku, et notre oni devra se confronter à un personnage ayant existé : le redoutable Oda Nobunaga.
Cela fait longtemps que Korokke a cessé de vouloir devenir un héros de légende, à présent il se contente de parcourir le pays pour mettre à l'épreuve son épée. Il est accompagné de Fugu, un kitsune tombé en disgrâce et rejeté par les siens. Tous deux devront affronter un adversaire qui semble impossible à arrêter.
Jonatan et moi sommes ravis de renouer avec ce personnage. Nous sommes comblés par les retours chaleureux sur le premier album et nous voulons vous faire partager d'autres exploits de notre héros. Korokke est prêt à vivre cette nouvelle aventure – ainsi que beaucoup d'autres –, il ne tient qu'à vous qu'elle voie le jour. On pourra se plonger dans KOROKKE ET L'ESPRIT SOUS LA MONTAGNE sans avoir lu le titre précédent, même si nous vous recommandons de vous procurer plusieurs exemplaires de chaque album pour les lire, les collectionner, et les offrir aux gens que vous aimez !

"What's a yokai?" You might be wondering (if you already know, you can go buy a copy of KOROKKE AND THE SPIRIT BENEATH THE MOUNTAIN). Yokai is the name for all kinds of fantastic and mythological creatures in Japan, from Spirits to Onis (ogres with a very bad temper who love to devour people.) There are hundreds and hundreds of Yokais... some of them very well known in the Western countries, like the Kappas, or others lesser known as the Umi Bozu. Some interact with the humans, some hide from them and others make their lives impossible.
The Yokais are also the explanation for any phenomenon: Do we hear strange noises at night in the forest? It is because a yokai produces them. They also come handy to force people to do things: do you have a very dirty bathroom? An Akaname, ready to lick all the dirt, may appear. Some will be glad not to have to clean but the vast majority will do everything possible to get rid of the yokai. What will the neighbors think if they find out that you have an Akaname? That you are a filthy pig, of course.

GENERAL
We know the kind of effort it takes to do a good job, and both the author and Spaceman Project are prepared. We love this medium and we want to take it to another level where the readers, authors, and the booksellers are the protagonists. It is because of that that we have taken the small details into account and adjusted the fundraising goal for what we’re offering.
This is an all or nothing campaign model. In order for the project to become a reality we need to reach 100% of the goal. The length of the campaign will last 30 days but can be extended by 7 more days if the project reaches 75% of its goal before the end of the month. As the publisher, Spaceman Project, can make contributions to the campaign to boost or complete the goal at its own discretion. As is customary, an announcement will be made public if this happens.

All illustrations presented in this campaign are provisional and are subject to change once the goal has been reached, and work on the project commences. This is only applicable to the cover images for the most part, not to the story, the format of the work, nor the rewards being offered. Obviously, we are presenting a work that is in progress and under development. Creativity has no limits and we are confident that we will not stop improving, and as such, we have made a commitment to quality with our readers.
While the project is being created, the authors are responsible for issuing updates and keeping the backers informed.
